Operation Anthropoid was the code name for the plan to assassinate Nazi Obergruppenfuhrer Reinhard Heydrich in 1942.

Many called Heydrich The Hangman of Prague. Others called him The Blonde Beast.

Heydrich had been installed as Acting Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia, with his office being based at the Hradcany Castle in Prague.

Heydrich was well-known as the chairman of the infamous conference that took place in Wannsee near Berlin in January 1942 that helped decide the fate of millions of people under the banner of the "final solution to the Jewish question". He was even touted by many as a possible successor to Adolf Hitler himself.

Two soldiers from the Czechoslovak Army based in Britain were assigned to Operation Anthropoid. Josef Gabcik (Below left) from what is now Slovakia, and Jan Kubis (Below right) from what is now the Czech Republic, were Warrant Officers as well as being great friends.

They were trained in various places in Britain and then parachuted back to their homeland on the night of 28th December 1941 to carry out their orders.

My new book is a First Edition titled 'The Mirror Caught The Sun - Operation Anthropoid 1942', published in 2009. It includes the first interview with Heydrich's only surviving son, Lorna Ellison (Gabcik's UK friend) and lots of other never before seen information.

How did they follow their prey? Did the plan work? Who helped? What happened to Gabcik and Kubis, and to Heydrich? What were the repercussions, if any?

All this and more is revealed in The Mirror Caught The Sun.
